In-House Laboratory Testing in Easton, MD

Our in-house laboratory gives us the power to run many important tests during your visit. With advanced blood analyzers and other diagnostic equipment on site, we can check organ function, blood counts, electrolyte balance, and more in real-time.

If more complex tests are needed, we partner with reference laboratories that provide rapid results, keeping your pet’s care plan moving forward without delay.

Common tests we run in-house include:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Blood Chemistry Panels
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Exams
  • Heartworm and Tick-Borne Disease Screening
  • Feline Leukemia/FIV Testing
  • Cytology (ears, skin, masses)

Digital Radiology (X-rays) for Cats & Dogs

Our digital X-ray system provides crisp, high-resolution images in seconds, helping us evaluate your pet’s bones, joints, heart, lungs, abdomen, and more. Digital radiography is noninvasive, safe, and fast, giving us diagnostic images within seconds after exposure.

We use radiographs to help diagnose:

  • Bone fractures and injuries

  • Arthritis and joint problems

  • Lung and heart conditions

  • Foreign body ingestion

  • Bladder stones

  • Loose or missing teeth

  • Tumors or masses

  • Gastrointestinal blockages

Ultrasound for Pets

Ultrasound offers a noninvasive, real-time look at your pet’s internal organs. Unlike X-rays, which show structure, ultrasound allows us to see movement, such as the beating of the heart or the flow of fluid. It’s a particularly helpful tool for soft tissue evaluations and guiding certain procedures.

We may recommend ultrasound for:

  • Evaluating the liver, kidneys, or spleen
  • Monitoring pregnancies
  • Investigating abnormal blood work
  • Guiding fine needle aspirates or biopsies
  • Checking for fluid in the chest or abdomen
  • Diagnosing bladder issues or tumors

Ultrasound complements other diagnostics like lab work and X-rays, giving us a more complete picture of your pet’s health and helping us provide the best possible care.
