Dr. Harris earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021, completing his clinical training at the University of Missouri. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of Charleston. Before veterinary school, he gained experience as an avian biologist, environmental lab assistant, and veterinary assistant — all right here in Maryland.

Previously, Dr. Harris practiced in Vermont, where he focused on small animal care for cats, dogs, and pocket pets. His time there was deeply meaningful, thanks to the mentorship and friendships he built, and it provided him a strong foundation for the next chapter of his career.

Returning to Midshore Veterinary Service feels like coming full circle for Dr. Harris, who grew up observing his father’s dedication to veterinary medicine and accompanying him on farm calls. He looks forward to building on that legacy by caring for the pets and farm animals of the Eastern Shore, and to learning more about large animal practice under his father’s guidance.

When he’s not at the clinic, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time outdoors and caring for his own animals with his partner, Dr. Karlee Cochran. They share a love of Red Angus cattle and currently live in Easton with their bearded collie-shepherd mix and two cats.

Throughout her training, she gained hands-on experience as an extern at several practices across the country, including Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Nave Veterinary Group in Las Vegas, and West Plains Veterinary Clinic.

For the past three years, Dr. Cochran practiced small animal medicine at in Vermont. There, she honed her skills in dentistry, surgery, and preventive care, and benefited from excellent mentorship that shaped her professional approach.

Growing up on a farm surrounded by horses, cows, and dogs sparked Dr. Cochran’s lifelong connection to animals. Today, she enjoys focusing on small animal medicine while also sharing with her partner, Dr. Carl Harris, a love of Red Angus cattle — a tradition carried on from both of their family farms.

Dr. Cochran is excited to get to know the Eastern Shore community, explore all it has to offer, and contribute to the collaborative, family-oriented atmosphere of Midshore Veterinary Service.
